The Georgia Power Company completed the Sinclair Dam in February of 1953, and was named after superintendent Benjamin W. Sinclair, who took part in the project. The dam is 2,988 feet long and 104 feet tall. Not only does the lake provide tons of recreational fun, it also provides electricity through a 45,000 kilowatt hydroelectric generating station.
